Instructions for Periodic Work Permit Work Permit Applicants

In order for an immigrant to work in the BVI, an employer must first advertise a job for 2 weeks. This process is to ensure that he or she has taken the necessary steps to find a qualified BVIslander or Belonger to fill the position, by publiclly listing the job position in one of the territory’s printed or online publications. If no suitable British Virgin Islander or "Belonger" applicants are available, an employer may seek a work permit for a migrant worker.

IMPORTANT! Ignore at your own peril.

Please do not leave any question blank. If a question does not apply to you, insert "not applicable" or "N/A" in the space provided. Applications printed double sided on cardstock or coloured paper, with blank spaces, and/or without original employee and employer signatures will not be accepted. The name of the employer listed on the application must coincide with the company name listed on the trade license.BVI Labour Department
